Designed for efficiency, the API handles visual elements like illustrations and supports complex formatting such as mathematical expressions. The output is formatted in Markdown, allowing developers to easily add links, headers, and other formatting elements. Mistral claims its OCR performs better than APIs from Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI, and is also using it for its AI assistant Le Chat. MistralOCR enables customers to convert rich and complex documents into readable content in all languages.
